盾 = ⺁ + 十 + 目 : Doggy Dog (du) urgently has to visit the bathroom so he storms into the encampment's bathroom ((e)n4) to pee on the banana tree (⺁), but the eye of providence (目) is determined to protect the tree standing guard armed with a cross (十) and protected by a shield (盾). The eye of providence is so determined to stop Doggy Dog because it'll have to clean the bathroom later.

工 = 二 + 丨 : Mnemonic symbol: a steel beam, since 工 looks like the cross section of a steel beam.

Gitta Giraffe (gu) is working a shift in front of the engine ((e)ng1). Her job is to melt dinosaur bones (丨) so that they can be disposed off easily.
